Things to do at Mount Glorious

Bird watching and wild life

Mount Glorious is a bird watcher's paradise, with over 80 varieties of birds seen on the mountain.

Awake to the sound of whip birds, and relax on the verandah where Australian King Parrots, crimson rosellas, bower birds, red-browed finches, sulphur crested cockatoos and kookaburras come to feed. In the surrounding bush you will hear, and perhaps even see, the shy cat bird and, of course, bush turkeys.

Here at Turkey's Nest we have sighted over 40 varieties of birds, and invite you to add your sightings to our list. We provide binoculars and bird identification books for bird-watching on site.

After your stay at Turkey's Nest add your photos to our growing gallery of wildlife.

More birds can be seen at nearby Maiala National Park.

Pademelons (small wallabies) are seen at Maiala National Park. Koalas are sometimes seen in the wet sclerophyll forest at the southern end of Mt Glorious.
